Fashion can come and go, but the idea remains. The wave of gothic music popularity that overran Ukrainian informal community in the second
Ukraine has been at war since 2014, but this year’s full-scale russian invasion has finally changed the perspective on our fight — twisted by russian propaganda media outlets for a long time — for the rest of the world. Right now our country is defending not only its own territories and people but the very idea of a peaceful and respectful global democratic community. Staying silent on the matter is not an option anymore — the consequences of the russian threat affect everyone, and the terrorist country must be stopped once and for all.
While the majority of the civilized world has united in their military, financial and humanitarian support of Ukraine, Dniprovia compilation has brought together underground artists and friends of Ukraine from Europe, U.S., Australia and New Zealand. This versatile collection of neofolk and ritual, industrial and ambient, IDM and field recording reflects the idea of unity in diversity: we could never meet each other in person, we can all have different background and interests, but we can support each other in need, standing against barbarity and injustice together.
All profits from this compilation are going directly to current medical/humanitarian/military needs in Ukraine (see reports below).

Financial reports
Here are our Bandcamp results for the first days since July 5. Bandcamp takes its fee from all transactions so the final sum is smaller unfortunately but we still have a lot to make a difference. We’ve already withdrawed the money collected during the first three days (marked with red) – 542.78 total.
With our volatile but still not hopeless exchange rate that gives us 15 720,71 hryvnas. Yay!
A brief note. We live in the South of Ukraine, and though our Odesa was more lucky, the neighboring Kherson region was partly occupied. So from the start we preferred to support some local initiatives aimed at de-occupation of Kherson and also to delegate the money to the people we trust.
Our local volunteers from a “Democratic Axe” party manufacture stretchers for moving wounded or injured soldiers (but also handy in less dramatic situations like carrying the ammo etc.) The stretchers themselves are free for the soldiers but the donations are needed to cover the cost of production for the new ones (about 830-850 hryvnas a piece), so we donated 4250 hryvnas (there was also a small bank fee but we’ll cover that) for the 5 of those.
And sent them straight away to our friends and listeners in the legendary 93rd brigade!
2000 hryvnas also went to the central office of “Democratic Axe” who helped our local soldiers to get much needed walkies and tactical medicine just a few days ago.
4000 hryvnas went to KhersON team that reputable Odesa historian and volunteer Oleksandr Babich works with: those are people from the tourist industry who are helping the soldiers directly involved in the de-occupation of the South (with uniforms, backpacks, headphones, binoculars and a lot of other necessary things) – Pavlo Biletskyy is the contact that provides the detailed reports.
That left us with little less than 5500 hryvnas that local volunteer movement “Pivdenna palianytsia” advised us to add to the fundraiser to buy a much needed car for the artillery of 28th brigade.
And our second withdrawal added another $193 (~5600 hryvnas) that we partly divided between the Hospitallers medical batallion and local volunteer rescuers.

Music artists are often believed to be ambitious persons, conscious about extensional expansion of their works. But underground is just a scaled-down model
