Darkness is our constant companion from mother’s womb to our final resting place, so ignoring it means betraying our nature. It is that very interest in our world’s shadowy landscape that has brought together three widely different contributors on the new Khatacomb release. Each one of this musical acts embraces darkness from its own conceptual and genre point of view. Acedia, Ukraine’s first angst pop project, performs songs about various ways of dying while alive. Kojoohar, solo act by the member of acknowledged industrial duo Kadaitcha, presents modular analogue sketches of his journeys to collective unconscious. Acclimate, master of atmospheric noise ambient from New Zealand, paves a listener’s way through disturbing cinematic sound scenery. This mutual release transcends usual genre and style requirements, providing a fresh perspective on underground collaboration wrapped in enjoyable darksome musical voicing.
